SOUTH MIAMI SENIOR HIGH MUSIC MAGNET
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS   

Wind players:

1. One Technical piece.
2. One lyrical piece.
3. Five prepared major scales, three will be played.
4. One chromatic scale.
5. Sight-reading

Orchestra players:

1. One technical piece
2. One lyrical piece
3. 3 prepared major scales, two will be played.
4. Sight-reading

Keyboard players:

1. One technical piece
2. One lyrical piece
3. Two major scales, two minor scales and one harmonic scale.
4. Sight-reading

Percussion

1. One piece on snare drum
2. Three prepared major scales, two will be played on a mallet instrument.
3. Sight-reading on snare drum and mallets.

Drum-set

1. Demonstrate three different styles.  Jazz swing, funk and ballad.
2. Sight-reading.  One jazz chart.
